PnoKyo Theater presents an enhanced staged reading of “The Cripple of Inishmaan,” the Tony-nominated play by Irish writer Martin McDonagh, best known in this country for his screenplays, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “Banshees of Inishirin.” The play, set in 1935 on the tiny island of Inishmaan, least populated of the Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland, is remarkable mostly for its unrelenting sameness. For seventeen-year-old orphan Billy Claven, disabled from birth, the tedium is unbearable. Then an American crew comes to a neighboring island to make the documentary “Man of Aran.” Billy sees a chance of release. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Sept. 20 and 21 and at 4 p.m. Sept. 22 at Magenta Theater, 1108 Main St., Vancouver. Tickets are $15 at magentatheater.com.
