theARTScentered offers art classes in downtown Vancouver

theARTScentered, in partnership with Above and Below Art Studio, will offer three new classes this spring at 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, with professional art instructor Tom Relth. Beginners are welcome; classes are open to anyone with an interest in art. Students will explore painting techniques, learn about historical art influences and create new artwork. • Painting: The Era of Expression — 3 to 5:45 p.m. Saturdays, April 12-June 7; $333
  Students will create art by examining the ideas and movements of the early 20th century, such as Cubism, Fauvism, Constructivism and Suprematism
• Visual Arts Bootcamp — 3 to 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays, April 9-June 6; $333
  Students will rethink design fundamentals and art concepts. New artwork will be based on art history and new ideas.
• Making Friends with My Digital Single-lens Reflex Camera — 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, May 10-June 7; $170
  Students will explore the ins and outs of digital photography while gaining a better understanding of best practices.
