TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center will host an online class about Forest Birds from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 30.
Mature Pacific Northwest forests host birds that are uniquely adapted to live in, on, and among trees. They’re cryptically colored, have tree-clinging feet, use specialized feeding techniques, and more. Attend this class to learn how and where to find these birds, which layers of the forest each type favors, and how to zero in on them in low-light forests by knowing their voices.
Longtime birder and teacher Laura Whittemore will lead this class.
Registration fees are on a sliding scale from $10 to $20. For more information or to register online, visit www.treesongnatureawareness.org.
