The Catch-22 Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat Team is building a breast cancer survivor’s paddling community in Clark County. The team welcomes all ages and fitness levels to try dragon boating from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at Vancouver Lake Rowing Club, 8612 N.W. Erwin O Rieger Memorial Highway, Vancouver. Meet the team and enjoy a free paddling session. Participants should bring water and dress for the weather. Cotton clothing is not recommended.
Paddling is an intense upper-body exercise that helps lower the risk of lymphedema, a painful complication that often occurs following surgery or radiotherapy. This sport helps participants feel empowered, build self-confidence and feel in control of their bodies through exercise and camaraderie. The Catch-22 team participates in races, enjoys social events and travels internationally. Earlier this year, the team traveled to New Zealand and will compete in France in 2026.
