Birdhouse Books, 1001 Main Street, Vancouver, will host First Friday Poetry Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 1 with Willa Schneberg and Brian Rohr. Schneberg is the former Poet Laureate of Oregon. “The Naked Room” is her sixth poetry collection. Among her honors are the Oregon Book Award in Poetry and the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund Award. Rohr’s work has been featured in the Jewish Literary Journal, The Word Faire and Blink Ink. His essay, “On Being a Story-Carrier,’’ was published in a book about Jewish storytelling, “P’ri Etz Yitzhak, Fruit of Yitzhak’s Tree.” His debut book is “Shaken to my Bones: A Poetic Midrash on the Torah.” First Friday Poetry Nights happen every First Friday as part of the downtown Vancouver Art Walk.
