Vancouver Audubon Society: The Need for Dark Night Skies

April 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

free

The next Vancouver Audubon Society meeting is 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 1 at Evergreen Public Schools Administrative Service Center, 13413 N.E. LeRoy Haagen Memorial Drive, Vancouver. Mary Coolidge of Bird Alliance of Oregon discuss why migrating birds need dark skies. The overabundance of artificial light has dire ecological consequences—not just for the millions of migrating birds that use the stars to navigate, but also for mammals, amphibians, fish and plants, as well as for human health. Learn how you can join the effort to preserve starry skies while maintaining safe and vibrant nighttime cityscapes.
