“100 Miles in 100 Days” Challenge

August 1, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00am on Saturday, repeating until August 29, 2020

The 100 Miles in 100 Days challenge was created by the City of Ridgefield to help residents get moving and enjoy the outdoors — but anyone in Clark County can participate by completing 100 miles of walking, running, hiking, paddling, or biking in the 100 days between Saturday, June 6, and Monday, Sept. 14.

Register through Eventbrite by clicking here. It’s free to participate, or pay $5 by June 30 and get a T-shirt. T-Shirts will be available for pick-up at The Big Paddle on Aug. 1, or at City Hall during business hours starting Aug. 3.

Looking for ideas about where to complete your miles? Check the guide at https://ridgefieldwa.us/things-to-do/community-events/100-in-100/. You can also find trails on Strava or All Trails. While on the trails,  follow physical distancing guidelines and maintain distance from those outside your household when you are completing your miles.

When you register for the challenge you will receive a log sheet for tracking your progress. The challenge begins on Saturday, June 6, National Trails Day, and ends 100 days later on Monday, Sept. 14. Each time you go outside and walk, run, hike, paddle, or bike during this time frame, record it on your log sheet. At the end of the challenge,  submit your completed log sheet to Ridgefield City Hall, no later than Monday, Sept. 21. All participants who complete 100 qualifying miles within the 100 days will receive a finisher’s prize and be entered into a Grand Prize raffle.

Register for the challenge on Eventbrite any time. Log miles by walking, running, hiking, paddling, or biking anywhere! Paddling miles only qualify in a non-motorized boat, and each bike mile counts as 0.5 qualifying miles. Look for ideas on where to complete your miles lower on this page.

Bonus raffle entries can be earned by promoting the challenge on social media. Post a picture of you working on completing the challenge on Facebook or Instagram with the tag #Ridgefield100in100 to earn 1 bonus entry. Each participant is eligible for up to 3 bonus entries.

All completed log sheets must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Ridgefield City Hall. Game cards can be returned online, by email at Events@ci.ridgefield.wa.us, mail or hand delivery to 230 Pioneer Street, PO Box 608, Ridgefield, WA 98642.
Submit your completed log book through the submission box at https://ridgefieldwa.us/things-to-do/community-events/100-in-100/.
