“A Song for Coretta” at Brunish Theatre

“A Song for Coretta” by Pearl Cleage is an inspiring tribute to Coretta Scott King (1927-2006). It tells the story of five Black women from different backgrounds waiting outside the Ebenezer Baptist Church with other mourners to pay their final respects to the late civil rights activist. The women share their situations and stories of Mrs. King’s influence and perseverance. “A Song for Coretta” will show at the Brunish Theatre from Sept. 21 through Oct. 9. Tickets are $25 to $38, available at portland5.com/brunish-theatre/events/song-coretta?. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, Oct. 1, 6, 7 and 8. Matinee showings are 3 p.m. Sept. 25, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. The theater is located on the fourth floor at 1111 S.W. Broadway, Portland.
Face masks are required for entry. Masks must completely cover nose and mouth. Gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable. If wearing a face mask that does not comply with Metro policy, Portland’5 will provide a face mask for patrons.
