“American Underland” by Daniel Duford at Archer Gallery

Clark College’s Archer Gallery presents a new exhibit featuring work from Daniel Duford, “American Underland,” on display from Sept. 16 to Dec. 20 in the gallery, with an opening reception from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 1. There will also be an Artist’s Talk from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 15 in Penguin Union Building (PUB) Room 161 and an artist-led workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 7 (visit clark-edu.zoom.us/j/89432337559 to learn more). Regular viewing hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The landscapes, narrative drawings and ceramic sculptures featured in “American Underland” are meditations on geologic time and the tangled myth and history of American land. Motifs include coyotes, Tarot cards and Janus, the Roman god of doorways, ending and beginnings.
