Clark College’s Archer Gallery, located in the Penguin Union Building, will feature the work of Artist in Residence David Eckard from May 1-31. Viewing hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. An Artist Talk with Eckard will be offered at 10 a.m. May 9 and Eckard will lead a workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18.
The internationally exhibited work of Eckard utilizes diverse materials, techniques and presentational strategies to fabricate fictive artifacts and enigmatic objects. These sculptures exist as singular objects, installation components and performance props. His rendered works on panel and paper address the body as carrier of histories, fantasies, potential and trauma.
