February 26 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Friday, repeating until March 26, 2021
Art on the Boulevard, a fine art gallery in the Vancouver Marketplace, presents “Northwest Impressions” on display Feb. 5 through March 27. Yer Za Vue and Oleg Ulitskiy will showcase their latest collection of oil paintings focused on the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Both artists often prefer to paint outside on location and are known as two of the premier “plein air” painters the in the NW.
Yer Za Vue attended The Kansas City Art Institute, where she received her BFA in Illustration in 1993. After interning at Hallmark Cards and Disney Feature Animation, Za relocated to Orlando, Fla., where she spent over 10 years working for Disney on traditional animated films and shorts. Since 2006 she’s taught animation, illustration and on-location painting at The Art Institute in Portland and more recently at PNCA. She was recently featured on the OPB show Oregon Art Beat.
Oleg Ulitskiy was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine. He was classically trained in the Odessa School of Art and worked as a restoration oil painter at the Odessa Restoration of Fine Arts. In the early 2000s he moved to Southwest Washington. As a dedicated plein air artist, Oleg prefers to work outside in the elements painting often-times for hours on end to capture the light and atmosphere of his subjects. Many of his plein air pieces are studies for larger pieces he will create once he is back in his studio. He has built a dedicated following of collectors throughout the Northwest and beyond.
