Be a Santa to a Senior
December 6, 2020
An event every day that begins at 1:00am, repeating until December 7, 2020
Home Instead’s seasonal favorite Be A Santa to a Senior returns with new options for community participation. For the first time, program sponsor Home Instead is joining forces with Amazon Business to create a contactless gift-giving experience. Through Dec. 7, the community can purchase gifts online from individual Amazon Business Wish Lists created for each senior. From there the items will be sent directly to a local senior’s home, or safely delivered by program volunteers. This year, program organizers are hoping to help 180 seniors.
Program coordinators evaluated the important holiday program and made adjustments with the safety of donors, seniors and volunteers in mind. With Vancouver seniors more isolated than ever because of concerns due to the virus, this year, Home Instead will collect monetary donations to purchase gifts online for seniors. Extra precautions will be taken so gifts can be safely collected and delivered to seniors in need. It’s easy to help. Members of the community can visit BeASantatoaSenior.com, click the Donate button and make a donation to the Vancouver office. Those donations will be used to purchase items for seniors in need in Clark County. For more information about the program, visit BeaSantatoaSenior.com or call Amy Yost at 360-253-6028.
