Beyond the Black Pioneer—Oregon in the Context of National Black History

Starting at 6 p.m. July 21, Pittock Mansion will host a presentation with Dr. Darrell Millner in conjunction with the opening of their exhibit “Black in Oregon 1840 – 1870”

Millner is a professor of Black Studies at Portland State University and an expert on the history of African Americans in the western movement with a special focus on the Oregon and California trail experiences. His presentation will discuss what an examination of Oregon black history can teach us about race relations today.

Tickets cost $10.00 to attend, tickets can be purchased at pittockmansion.org/events.
