“Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” at Oregon Convention Center
November 19 @ 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Tuesday and Friday, repeating until January 9, 2022
Imagine being completely immersed in more than 300 of the greatest works of post-Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh, liberated from its two-dimensional limitations into a three-dimensional experience that exhilarates every sense and brings to life one of the most influential artists the world has known. It’s all part of Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience (vangoghportland.com) at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland, running Nov. 19 through Jan. 9. Tickets ($36.99 for adults and $24.99 for children, plus ticketing fees) are available at vangoghportland.com.
While journeying through Beyond Van Gogh guests witness more than 300 iconic masterpieces, including such instantly recognizable classics as “The Starry Night,” “Sunflowers,” and “Café Terrace at Night,” as well many revealing self-portraits, freed from their frames. Set to a symphonic score and using the artist’s own dreams, thoughts, and words to drive the experience as a narrative, Van Gogh’s art comes to life by appearing and disappearing, flowing across multiple surfaces with their immense detail. The experience lasts about an hour.
In addition to state mask requirements, guests 12 and older are required to observe at least one of the following safety measures: provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result within 48 hours prior to attending the event. Children 11 years of age or younger are exempt and should wear a mask and observe social distancing of at least six feet between individuals.
