Pomeroy Farm, 20902 N.E. Lucia Falls Road, Yacolt, offers a Blacksmithing Basics workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11. Students will learn the basics of blacksmithing in the farm’s century-old shop. The workshop includes a lesson in this historic trade, focusing on traditional techniques used to construct various objects and tools. Attendees will leave with a plant hook or wall hook that they have pounded out with their own hands. Students as young as 13 are welcome if attending with an adult. The cost is $125 per person. A light snack will be provided during a 30-minute lunch break. Students are encouraged to bring sack lunches.
