Clark County Historical Museum Speaker Series Explores National Legacy of Fort Vancouver

The Clark County Historical Museum will present a special edition of its Speaker Series, “Fort Vancouver and the Story of America,” at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Fort Vancouver Visitor Center, 1501 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free but registration is encouraged. Meagan Huff, museum curator at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, will delve into Fort Vancouver’s history. The presentation will highlight the founding and historical significance of Fort Vancouver; archaeological discoveries that shed new light on the site’s past; the fort’s role in the broader national narrative of colonialism, migration and military presence; and how our understanding and interpretation of the evolved over time.
