Columbia Writers Series: Kaveh Akbar

Clark College’s Columbia Writers Series welcomes Kaveh Akbar, poet, novelist and editor, whose works appear in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Paris Review and Best American Poetry. He is the author of “Calling a Wolf a Wolf” and “Pilgrim Bell.” “Martyr,” his debut novel, was a New York Times bestseller and one of Barack Obama’s favorite books of the year. His writing delves into themes of empire, immigration, addiction and the healing power of art.
