The North Clark Historical Museum and Mt. Valley Grange #79 will host the annual Community Celebration Honoring Veterans at 1 p.m. Nov. 8, starting with a pie and ice cream social in the basement of the Mt. Valley Grange, 40107 N.E. 221st Ave., Amboy. Adults are $4 and children age 12 and under are $2; proceeds benefit the grange. The program starts at 2 p.m. featuring Matt Hodges of the Army National Guard. Clark County Fire District 10 will be recognized for its contributions to the community with Fire Chief Gordon Brooks. Danae Castle will sing a medley of patriotic songs. Amboy Middle School Band will provide entertainment. American Legion Tum Tum Post #168 will present the flag, lead the flag salute and retire the flag. All veterans attending will receive a free raffle ticket for a patriotic quilt made by the Chelatchie Quilters. A pie auction will conclude the event.
