Driving to Victory: The U.S. Army Jeep

The Vancouver Barracks Military Association has invited Jason Samples to display his historic Jeep and other World War II artifacts at 6:30 p.m. April 24 at the O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St., Vancouver. The Jeep, aka the Willys-Overland 1/4-ton cargo vehicle, transported troops over difficult terrain, from frozen mountains to open plains and swollen rivers. Samples, who spent several years in U.S. Army as a tanker, owns a number of historic vehicles and is active in early twentieth century military reenactments.
