The Watershed Alliance of Southwest Washington will offer a free screening of “Burned: Are Trees the New Coal?,” from 4:30 to 7 p.m. May 27 in the Columbia Room at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St., Vancouver. This film examines the accelerating destruction of forests for fuel and probes the policy loopholes, huge subsidies and green washing of the biomass power industry.
