“Exquisite Creatures Revealed” is a new exhibit from Oregon-based artist and naturalist Christopher Marley at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) through Feb. 17. Marley’s intricate artworks feature rare organisms from around the world in stunning displays. His tributes to the beauty of the natural world broaden our knowledge about biodiversity and conservation. See the first leafy sea dragon ever preserved whole, a ten-foot-long Japanese spider crab, a whole reef shark, a rarely seen weedy sea dragon, deep sea spiders, a giant Amazonian stingray and rare orchids. None of the vertebrates in the exhibit were killed for his art. Marley emphasizes ecologically friendly and sustainable collection methods and collaborates with zoos, museums and collectors. The exhibit is included with museum admission ($15-$20 or free for children under 3). Learn more at omsi.edu/exhibits/exquisite-creatures-revealed/. Regular museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and Sundays. Saturday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
