The Portland Art Museum presents “Eyes of the Storm: Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64, on exhibit from Sept. 14 to Jan. 19 at 1219 S.W. Park Ave. Portland. Comprised of recently rediscovered photographs from Paul McCartney’s personal archive, more than 250 pictures document The Beatles’ meteoric rise from British sensation to international stardom. At a time when so many camera lenses were turned toward them, McCartney’s perspective from the inside out brings fresh insight into the band, their experiences, the fans, and the Beatlemania phenomenon. Through these photographs, along with video clips and archival material, visitors can witness the dawn of the “British Invasion” that fundamentally transformed rock and roll music and American society. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $25 for adults or $22 for college students.
