Fingerstyle Guitar Champion Richard Smith performs benefit concert for Friends of the Carpenter

Friends of the Carpenter presents a two-hour solo concert by Nashville-based Richard Smith, National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 30 at 1600 W. 20th St., Vancouver. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Each $30 ticket includes refreshments and table seating. All profits will be donated to Friends of the Carpenter. Parking is free. A native of Beckenham, England, Smith won the 2001 national fingerpicking championship and has since forged a career as a solo artist, performing all over the U.S.A., Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Brazil. He performs a repertoire of fingerpicking classics, original songs, fiddle tunes, Bach, Beatles, blues, Joplin rags, jazz standards, pop songs and Sousa marches.
