Historic Military Saber training at Fort Vancouver

Academia Duellatoria continues it’s partnership with the National Park Service at Fort Vancouver. There will be two courses on the use of the military saber according to drill as practiced by the U.S. Dragoons in the third quarter of the 1800s. Class will include saber drill training and history talks over seven Sunday sessions starting Feb. 3 and ending March 17. Classes are taught by Academia Duellatoria instructors in partnership with Fort Vancouver Park Rangers. There will be two classes – Basic 1 starting at 3 p.m. and basic 2 starting at 5 p.m. Those who pass proficiency after taking the basic 2 course can take the intermediate class on the same dates. Registration for the class is through Academia Duellatoria and costs $100 for the series. Contact Jeff at Academia Duellatoria to register. All registrations must be paid for before the class begins. Registration is limited to 14 participants in each class, for ages 12 and up.
