Improv Classes for Adults
January 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Magenta Theater is known primarily as a performance venue for mainstage shows, improv events, staged readings and a rock choir. Due to ongoing requests from patrons and volunteers, Magenta is again offering improv classes for adults on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. from Jan. 13 to Feb. 24 (no class on Feb. 3). The cost is $125 for a six-week series.
Taught by veteran improv player and director of Magenta Improv Theater, KC Cooper, each class in this six-week course will focus on a different aspect of improv. Students will learn the power of “yes and,” and the art of listening and responding, finding agreement, using the environment and developing characters—all in a fun supportive environment! Improv can add another tool to a stage actor’s toolbox and can be applied to business and social settings as well. Each student will discover “what works” for them as individuals, and develop their own improv styles while having fun with other students. There is a 10 student minimum to ensure students have a variety of scene partners.
