“Inside Out” Drive In Movie Night in Battle Ground
April 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmfree, donations welcome
Families are invited to a fun-filled drive-in movie theater experience on April 30 in Battle Ground. The event, hosted by Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance, Chief Umtuch DREAM Team, and Chief Umtuch Middle School PTO, will feature the animated movie “Inside Out.” Before the movie begins, student-led programming will focus on vaping prevention, heart health, and healthy ways to deal with difficult emotions. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged for the American Heart Association. Space is limited to 100 cars so tickets can be reserved and donations made through https://insideout.bpt.me. Concessions will also be available, and proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
The movie was selected as a way to continue the work that the Chief Umtuch DREAM Team has been doing this year to help students better understand their emotions. In the fall the group created emoji trading cards each representing a different emotion that students might have during the pandemic, including tips for how to handle the emotions.
The event will be a fundraiser benefiting the work that the American Heart Association does to help local communities in the state of Washington. People can choose to donate to the cause, even if they don’t plan to attend the drive-in movie night.
The drive-in theater experience will be set up in the Lewisville campus parking lot, 406 N.W. 5th Ave., Battle Ground. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie will start at 8:30 p.m. Families will want to arrive early to enjoy fun pre-show activities planned by the students.
For everyone’s health and safety, attendees will be asked to stay in their vehicles whenever possible and to follow all state guidance related to COVID-19, including physical distancing and wearing of masks. If the event is cancelled due to weather, it will be rescheduled to May 7.
