Juneteenth Exhibit at Clark County Historical Museum

June 28 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., Vancouver, presents “The Origins and Celebrations of Juneteenth,” on display from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through June 28. The exhibit traces the origins of Juneteenth to “Freedom’s Eve” in 1862, when enslaved and free African Americans gathered in hope for the Emancipation Proclamation to take effect. It follows the journey to June 19, 1865, when freedom finally reached the westernmost Confederate state of Texas—and highlights the resilience, empowerment and transformation that followed during Reconstruction.
