The Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver, is hosting International Day of the Dude, a celebration of the cult classic film, “The Big Lebowski,” the 1998 comedy starring Jeff Bridges. Bridges plays Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, a Los Angeles slacker who only wants to bowl and drink white Russians, is mistaken for another Jeffrey Lebowski, a wheelchair-bound millionaire, and finds himself dragged into a strange series of events involving nihilists, adult film producers, ferrets, errant toes and large sums of money. Guests are invited to wear their best Big Lebowski-inspired costumes to participate in the costume contest and enjoy discount drinks.
The Kiggins Theatre will opens its doors at 6 p.m. for this event. The costume contest starts at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at kigginstheatre.com. Big Lebowski fans are also invited to join the pre-party at Bessolo Pizzeria at 5 p.m. with movie trivia, free appetizers and white Russians available to purchase. Admission to the pre-party is $5 at the door.
