Learn skills to distinguish between information and propaganda during a free workshop, “Spotting Misinformation and Propaganda on Social Media,” 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Washington State University Vancouver. The event is open to the public and no registration is needed. The workshop includes the “three-click method” to slow the spread of misinformation, demonstrations of common misinformation tactics, exercises to practice identifying suspicious content and a question-and-answer session. The event also celebrates the launch of “Down the Rabbit Hole: Slowing the Spread of Misinformation and Propaganda on Social Media,” by workshop leaders Lacey J. Faught and Adrienne Harvey.
