Love Street Playhouse presents “Seeking Mister Hyde”

Love Street Playhouse presents “Seeking Mister Hyde,” showing Nov. 3-19 at 126 Loves Ave., Woodland. It’s 1885, and author Robert Louis Stevenson’s health is failing and his finances are in shambles. Desperate, he accepts an offer from his publisher to pen a ghost story in 11 days. As Stevenson writes about a Scottish criminal who led a double life, he becomes obsessed by the notion of evil under a veneer of respectability. The author gives himself over to his shadow self, spiraling downward into greed, selfishness and addiction before emerging with “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17.
