Mason Bee Cocoon Cleaning Class

The Vancouver Bee Project will host a Mason Bee Cocoon Cleaning Event from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 1 at Fourth Plain Community Commons, 3101 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. At 10 a.m., attendees will hear a short talk about mason bees, covering their lifecycle, the flowers and plants they love most and simple stewardship strategies to support the survival of this solitary, gentle pollinator. Guests will then clean their own mason bee houses with guidance from experienced volunteers. Guests can bring mason bee houses from home or simply watch the process.
