The Historic Trust presents speaker, author and history teacher Jeff Dacus at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St., Vancouver, as part of the Vancouver Barracks Military Association’s Military History Talk series. Dacus will explore Washington state’s connection to our nation’s first president in honor of George Washington’s 192nd birthday. Dacus’ new book, “Perceptions of Battle,” discusses Washington’s leadership during the Battle of Monmonth, the longest battle of the Revolutionary War, is due out in May.
