Military History Talk: “Ulysses S. Grant Slept Here?”

The Vancouver Barracks Military Association presents its next Military History Talk, “Ulysses S. Grant Slept Here?” at 6:30 p.m. May 23 at the O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St., Vancouver. As a young Brevet Captain, Grant served as quartermaster at Vancouver Barracks from 1852-53. Historian and archaeologist Jeff Davis (U.S. Army, retired) will discuss his new research on the history of 1849 Officers Row building commonly referred to as The Grant House, as well as the building demolished long ago in which Grant did live.
