Mon Ami Cafe is hosting “Amplify,” a queer/BIPOC poetry and storytelling open mic evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Thursday at 1906 Main St., Vancouver. The evening features poetry and storytelling centering on queer and BIPOC voices. People of all ages are welcome to listen or perform, though poems and stories are uncensored and may contain mature themes. No racist, sexist, misogynist, transphobic or homophobic content will be tolerated. Attendees should expect to follow whatever COVID masking policy is in effect at the time of the event.

Sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m. The time allotment is five minutes or two poems to start. Participants should always bring extra material because if there’s time at the end, performers will be welcomed back to the mic.
Performers should provide warnings to the audience if their material is of a sensitive nature.
