The Mount St. Helens Institute will host Volcano Views and Brews from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at Loowit Brewing, 507 Columbia St., Vancouver. The event features a book launch party honoring author Christine Colasurdo (1961–2021). Colasurdo’s writings, including the book “Return to Spirit Lake,” reflect on her memories of Mount St. Helens and Spirit Lake before the eruption, and how her relationship with this place deepened as both she and the landscape healed after 1980. Now her twin sister, Celeste Colasurdo, is posthumously publishing Christine’s poetry collection, “There Is Always a Volcano Before You.” The cost to attend is $10.
