TreeSong Nature Awareness and Retreat Center will host this online class on the diversity of local wetland birds from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 25.
Longtime birder and teacher Laura Whittemore will lead this class where attendees will get to know the incredible diversity of birds that inhabit our many wet places. From the large and easy-to-spot Great Blue Heron or the small and secretive Sora, a wetland can keep hobbyists busy looking for birds for hours. The class will cover water birds like herons and rails, songbirds and ducks that favor marshes, plus get to know the Wilson’s Snipe, a cryptically colored shorebird that’s often heard before it’s seen.
Registration fees are on a sliding scale from $10 to $20. For more information or to register online, visit www.treesongnatureawareness.org.
