Port of Vancouver USA Virtual Tour

January 25

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 1:00am on Monday, repeating until February 28, 2021

To offer a look inside the port during the pandemic, a new online presentation is available, taking the audience through an overview of the port and its operations.
The 45-minute virtual presentation features slides that illustrate the port’s history, provide information about its governance, explain the port’s diverse cargo mix and its trading partners, as well as provide viewers a peek inside at some of the port’s industrial operations. Two videos are also included in the presentation that showcase the port’s economic impact and its environmental programs. The presentation is narrated by port staff: Julie Rawls, community relations manager; Alex Strogen, chief commercial officer; and Mike Schiller, director of business development.
Usually in the spring and summer, the port offers 10 free public tours that feature a live overview followed by a bus tour through the port’s marine terminals. In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic suspended these in-person tours. It is hoped that tours can resume this fall depending on guidelines from Washington State Governor Jay Inslee.
