Re-Imagined Radio will premiere “My Hands Are Different,” a memoir by Martin J. Gallagher, at 1 p.m. Sept. 15. Gallagher, a Portland-based composer and sound designer, shares a memoir for adopted persons and anyone who asks, “Who am I and where am I from?” The show will be broadcast on KXRW-FM (99.9) in Vancouver and KXRY-FM (91.1 and 107.1) in Portland. The program tells the story of a man shaped by two fathers. His adoptive father urged him to “stand up for yourself,” providing boxing gloves and a training schedule. His birth father, discovered through a box of tape recordings after his death, inspired Gallagher’s creativity and passion for music.
