Science on Tap: Artificial Intelligence

The next Science on Tap is “Artificial Intelligence: Conservation and Securing the Future of Earth,” at 7 p.m. April 9 at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver. Emily Soward of Amazon Web Services is the founding vice president for The Ecological Archive, a 501c3 dedicated to advancing research intersecting AI and ecology. She’ll explore the current state of AI and the challenges that this new technology poses for planet Earth by looking at where AI is being used, the limitations of AI and how scientists are addressing them and where AI came from and what motivated its inventors.
