Share Virtual Soup Week
An event every day that begins at 1:00am, repeating until October 11, 2020
Share will host a virtual Soup Week, Oct. 5 to 11, to highlight their 2020 Soup’s On! chefs and restaurants. Originally scheduled for Oct. 25, Soup’s On!, an annual fundraiser that attracts 850+ guests, was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. The virtual fundraiser is vital as the soup is still on with daily, free to-go meals served through our Hot Meals program, and Housing Navigators continue to search for affordable housing for individuals and families in our community who have been and continue to be impacted by the pandemic, unemployment and the struggling economy. This year’s chef line-up include: Beaches Restaurant & Bar, Bleu Door Bakery, Farrar’s Bistro, Frontier Public House, The Hammond Kitchen & Craft Bar, Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, Line & Lure at ilani Casino Resort, Nom Nom Restaurant & Grill, Say Ciao! and 3 Sheets at the Harbor. On social media (facebook.com/ShareVancouver and on Instagram @sharevanwa), Share will encourage the community to visit each of the restaurants to try their delicious soup, for take-out or in-person dining – socially distant and with a mask. Please visit each restaurants’ website or call in advance for hours of operation and availability of take-out and/or in-person dining. A donation link at sharevancouver.org has been assigned to each restaurant so that people can vote with a donation to Share in honor of their favorite soup. The restaurant and chef who raises the most over the course of the week will be awarded the coveted Golden Ladle. Community members can also purchase a mystery raffle box or a raffle ticket. Throughout the month of October, votes made in honor of a favorite soup, the purchase of a Mystery Raffle Box or a donation to support Share’s vital programs will be matched. And, everyone who makes a donation during the month of October will be able to download our “Soup Week Recipe Book” featuring a recipe from each chef.
At 4 p.m. Oct. 27, Share will spill the soup in a free, virtual celebration to present the Golden Ladle winner and honor the Volunteer of the Year and Community Partner Award. The event will be hosted by Eric Sawyer, of BBSI, with awards presented by Waste Connections. Visit sharevancouver.org to register.
