The Historic Trust presents “Stomp and Shout: The Untold Story of Northwest Rock & Roll,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Red Cross Building, 605 Barnes St., near Fort Vancouver. The Northwest has contributed to Rock & Roll history with Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Queensrÿche and Heart. Before that, it was The Wailers, The Kingsmen, Paul Revere and The Raiders and The Sonics. Yet these iconic bands are only half the story. In this talk, author Peter Blecha, director of the Northwest Music Archives, will share details about the lesser-known but vitally important bands and scenes that laid the foundation for what was to come. The lecture is free but register at thehistorictrust.org/calendar/stomp-and-shout-the-untold-story-of-northwest-rock-roll/.
