Vancouver Art Space hosts Art School Crash Course

Vancouver Art Space will host a four week Art School Crash Course. Class meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from Feb. 2 to 23 at 8700 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive, Suite 283, located upstairs inside Vancouver Mall. Each week will cover a different broad topic, with a short lecture and hands-on art activity to drive home the lesson’s concept. Weekly topics include developing an artist’s eye through careful observation; color theory basics; spatial awareness and grid drawing; and “make it darker”– the importance of value. • Drawing pad, 18″x24″
• Graphite drawing pencils and eraser
• Vine charcoal (medium-soft)
• Kneaded eraser
• Charcoal blending stumps (assorted)
• 1 standard black Sharpie pen (not fine point)
