Celebrate World Wetlands Day from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 3 with a stroll around Vancouver’s Water Resources Education Center, the wetlands and the Columbia River. The 50 acres of wetlands adjacent to the Water Center provide critical habitat for numerous birds, and barren winter trees provide excellent viewing conditions. Expect to walk 1.5 miles on uneven terrain, sandy and muddy surfaces. Binoculars will be available to borrow. The walk is best adults and ages 6 and older. Registration is required at cityofvancouver.us/events/winter-birds-of-the-wetlands/. For more information, email vanwrec@cityofvancouver.us or call 360-487-7111.
