The Washington State University Extension Diabetes Prevention Program is a CDC-approved one-year lifestyle change program that supports people in making changes to reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes. A trained lifestyle coach leads the program to help people with pre-diabetes change certain aspects of their lifestyle, like eating healthier, reducing stress, and getting more physical activity. The program also includes group support from others who share goals and struggles. It’s a year-long program focused on long-term changes and lasting results. . Eligible individuals can choose evening or daytime sessions: 5-6 p.m. on Mondays or 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Mondays. There is a fee to cover the cost of the program, which may be reimbursed by insurance or covered by an employee health savings account. Space is limited.
