BirdFest & Bluegrass is Oct. 5 in Ridgefield. Take a walk in nature, listen to music, shop from local vendors or learn something new. The festival’s 25th anniversary celebration is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 on the Ridgefield Waterfront. Visitors should park at the Port of Ridgefield and take a C-TRAN shuttle to downtown and the Carty Unit. The wheelchair-accessible shuttle service is the primary means of transportation to the Refuge’s administration building and the Carty Unit trails. Shuttle service ends at 2 p.m. Attendees are invited to walk the scenic Carty Lake Trail, a beautiful hike from the port allowing hikers to make a full loop (4.8 miles total) through downtown and back to the port.
