A new festival is coming to Hockinson on July 11 that will celebrate the area’s well-known berry farms while maintaining social distance. Hosted by the Hockinson Main Street Team in collaboration with Hockinson School District, the inaugural Hockinson Berry Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of 159th and 182nd Avenue in downtown Hockinson (in the parking lot of the old middle school). Join the Columbia Slough Watershed Council for Regatta, an on-the-water paddle festival, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 16. The Regatta celebrates recreation opportunities on Portland’s hidden gem of local waterways, the Columbia Slough. Big and little pirates alike are welcome to attend Aquifer Adventure, a family festival all about groundwater. Activities are all free on a first-come, first-served basis, and include a treasure hunt, canoe rides, face painting, hands-on science activities, ice cream aquifers and more.
