The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s first Back to the Movies performance of the 2024-2025 season is a screening of the 1929 Alfred Hitchcock movie “Blackmail,” played with live accompaniment by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra chamber ensemble. The film follows the story of a young London woman who murders a man in an act of self-defense. In the days that follow, she is subjected to blackmail by a bystander of the event.
