The Big Paddle Waterfront Festival is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 7 on the Ridgefield Waterfront, 109 W. Division St., Ridgefield. Enjoy paddling, hiking, live music, games and food. The Big Paddle begins at 10 a.m. Join a flotilla of kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for a five-mile guided roundtrip paddle on Lake River. Registration is $5 (BYOB –Bring Your Own Boat). Boats must be rented in advance through Alder Creek Kayak, located onsite. The Quirky Kayak Parade Paddle is 1 p.m. Take a guided paddle with Alder Creek Kayak from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; registration ($35) is required online. Join a free nature hike along the waterfront and through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge at 10 a.m.; no registration required. On the waterfront, enjoy live music, games, hayrides, food and drinks. A farmers market with artisan vendors will be held in Davis Park.
