In 1924, if your family couldn’t pay its bills, you might have been sent to “the poor farm.” Clark County’s “poor farm” is now the 78th Street Heritage Farm, founded in 1865 and placed on the Washington Historic Register in 2012. Join a WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener for a guided tour of the farm, home of the Master Gardeners demonstration gardens. Learn about the farm’s role in horticulture education, agricultural research, food security and community enrichment. Tours involve prolonged standing and walking on uneven ground with some elevation change. Participants should bring water and dress for the weather. Registration is required at extension.wsu.edu/clark/2025/03/78th-street-heritage-farm-walking-tours-2/. For more details, email er*************@*su.edu or call 564-397-5738. Tours are as follows:
