Art at the Cave presents “The Most Unlikely Art Exhibition”

January 19, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

free

Art at the Cave, 108 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, presents “The Most Unlikely Art Exhibition” in honor of National Human Trafficking Awareness month. Jason Page, Emmy Award-winning founder of The Unlikely Mission, and Southwest Washington Center for the Arts will host a multimedia arts event featuring paintings and art installations, artifacts, film, guest speakers and live music from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at IV Tea Company, 1001 Broadway St., Suite 100, in downtown Vancouver, featuring live music from guitarist Sam Battaglia and craft cocktails for purchase.

Each painting on exhibit represents an actual story of human trafficking in America. The installation piece illustrates the timeline of a decade’s worth of work, and the artifacts on display were used during reconnaissance and rescue operations. Jason is currently working with Craig Martin and director/producer Christina Zorich (daughter of actress Olympia Dukakis) to produce the documentary film, “Knock: Peering into Human Trafficking’s Many Rooms.” Guests will get an exclusive screening of the trailer for this film and have an opportunity to talk with Jason about this important work. Christina was the Executive Producer and Director of the award-winning documentary, “The New Abolitionists,” which shines a spotlight on the human sex trafficking industry in Southeast Asia. The film garnered a whopping 41 wins and 25 nominations worldwide. Jason will share these thought-provoking stories, followed by a Q & A session. His testimony is powerful, his vision is compelling, and his ability to communicate is extraordinary.
